Best Chocolate Layer Cake with Chocolate Frosting

Cake:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 oz chocolate
  • 2 cups flour
  • I tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 eggs

Preheat oven to 350F. Spray 3 9" round cake pans with Pam. Boil milk and take off heat. Add chocolate and stir to melt. Mix flour and baking soda and set aside.

Cream butter and both sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add dry ingredients alternatively with milk mixture and stir until just combined. Divide evenly among the cake pans and bake for 27-30 minutes until cake tester comes out dry. Cool.

Frosting:

  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 6 tbsp. cocoa
  • 6 tbsp. butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

Sift cocoa and sugar. Cream butter. Add remaining ingredients and mix until fluffy. If too dry add more evaporated milk. If too soft ass cocoa.
