- 3 large eggs white
- 6 oz sugar
- 1 lb strawberries, halved or quartered
- 2 cups heavy cream + 2/3 cup sugar
- Preheat oven to 250F. Line a 9" cake pan or a pan of similar size with parchment.
- Beat the whites until soft peaks. Add the sugar gradually and beat well. Spread in pan and bake 1-1 1/4 hours until meringue is baked.
- Whip cream and add sugar.
- Layer the three elements - meringue, berries and cream, in a glass or trifle bowl. Serve as is.
